There are three stages of treatment offered by Thomas. The appropriate care for your requirements is given at all times.
Stage One - Relief Care
If you come for treatment with an acute condition, the intial stage of treatment is focused on reducing and/or resolving your symptoms. This can commonly occur within 2 to 6 sessions depending on the nature and severity of your circumstances. A treatment plan will be put in place here.
Stage Two - Restorative Treatment
This stage aims to rectify the underlying imbalances that have brought about your symptoms in the first place. Treatment will generally not be as often as in Stage One, and herbal medicine is commonly an integral part of this stage.
Stage Three - Wellbeing Maintenance
Once you are back in good health, regular acupuncture and herbal medicine can ensure that you stay this way! Taking a proactive approach to your health with regular sessions can allow for potential problems to be quickly identified and resolved before they become worse.
What to expect in a treatment
Please arrive at your initial consultation about 10 minutes early to complete the necessary paperwork. The initial consultation itself will take just under an hour. This will include a full case history, where Thomas will collect detailed information about your state of health, diet and lifestyle. He will discuss a suggested treatment plan with you. This will be followed by the treatment itself. Treatment is usually based around acupuncture with adjunct therapies used as appropriate. However, Thomas caters to the needle-phobic too! There are many treatment possibilities available.
You can expect follow-up treatments to last between 45 minutes and an hour. They will start with a discussion on your progress, the results of treatment, any queries about herbal medicine and any questions you may have. This will then be followed by your treatment.
Thomas asks that you come to your appointment on time, so that other patients are not kept waiting. Please respect the cancellation policy and give 24 hours notice if you are unable to attend your appointment and would like to rebook. A cancellation fee may otherwise be charged.
